Getting started
What is HoardPrime?
HoardPrime is a home for the things you collect - and a record of where they have been. You catalog each piece with photos, condition, and the story behind it, and you record how it changes hands. Over time your collection carries a history you can verify and a reputation that travels with you. It stays private by default, and public only where you choose.
How do I sign up?
Click Sign Up on the home page, enter an email and password, and confirm the email we send you. Once confirmed, you'll land on your Overview page and can start adding items right away.
How do I add my first item?
From your collection page, click + Add Item. Give it a name and pick a category - those are the only required fields. Everything else (photos, description, notable events, walkthrough video) you can add now or come back to later.
What categories of things can I catalog?
Sports Cards, Trading Card Games (TCG), Comics, Tickets, Video Games, Toys, Dolls & Action Figures, Memorabilia, Vinyl, Coins, Currency, Stamps, Books, Watches, Jewelry, Art, LEGO, Misc. If your thing doesn't fit, use Misc - HoardPrime is a tool, not a gatekeeper.
Is there a limit on how many items I can add?
There's no enforced item limit on a HoardPrime account today. As the product grows we plan a generous free allowance with a Pro tier for unlimited items (see Pricing). Either way, we'll give plenty of notice before anything changes, and we'll never delete items you've already added.
Managing your collection
How do I edit an item?
On any item's detail page, click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top right and choose Edit. You can also click the Edit it → link on the "This is your item" card at the bottom of the page.
How do I delete an item?
On the Edit Item page, scroll to the bottom and click Delete this item. You'll be asked to confirm. Deleted items are removed from your collection and from Discover, and cannot be recovered from the UI.
Can I reorder my photos?
Yes. In the photo uploader, drag any photo to reorder. The first photo in the order is the one that appears as the primary image in grids.
How do I add a walkthrough video?
On Add or Edit Item, paste a YouTube or Vimeo URL into the Walkthrough video field. It can be any standard URL format - full
youtube.com/watch?v=…, short youtu.be/…, vimeo.com/…, or similar. The video shows on your item's detail page as a click-to-play player. My video URL says "Must be a YouTube or Vimeo URL." Why?
We currently embed only YouTube and Vimeo videos. Other providers may come later. In the meantime, you can host your video on either of those platforms (both have free tiers) and paste the URL here.
What is "cost basis" and who can see it?
Cost basis is what an item actually cost you - purchase price plus extras like grading, shipping, or restoration. It's shown only to you, on your own item detail pages. It is never visible to other users or to public visitors, even when your item is public.
What are notable events?
Notable events are short dated notes you attach to an item - when it was graded, when it was authenticated, when something significant happened in its story. They appear as a timeline on the item's detail page and are part of the storytelling around the piece. You can also attach a link to any event - an auction listing, an authentication record, a news article - and, if you own the item, add or edit events right on its detail page (look for the pencil) or from the item's edit form.
Privacy
Who can see my items?
Privacy in HoardPrime works on three independent layers:
- Item visibility - each item is either Private (only you) or Public (visible on your profile and in Discover).
- Profile visibility - your
/u/usernamepage is either viewable to anyone, or hidden entirely from logged-out visitors. - Field-level privacy - even on public items, your financial fields (cost basis, paid, asking price, intent tags) are never shown to anyone but you.
Does HoardPrime collect financial information about me?
Only what you enter against individual items (purchase price, extras, asking price). HoardPrime does not ask for net worth, income, total portfolio value, or other aggregate financial information, and never plans to.
Can other users see what I paid for something?
No. Cost-related fields (paid, extra costs, asking price) are never included in any data returned to other users, even on items you've made public. The same is true for your intent tags. These are owner-only fields enforced at the database level.
What do you do with my data?
Your data is yours. HoardPrime stores it so you can use the product, and shows the parts you've marked public to the visitors you choose to share with. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, and we don't share data with third parties beyond the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (currently Supabase for the database and Netlify for hosting). See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
Your account
How do I change my username?
In Settings, edit the Username field and save. Rules: 3-30 characters, lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores only. Can't start with a hyphen or underscore. Some reserved words are blocked. Note: old
/u/old-username links will stop working after you change. How do I change my display name or bio?
In Settings. Display name and bio are both free-form. Changes save instantly and appear immediately on your profile.
How do I add cover photos to my profile?
In Settings, look for the Cover photos section. You can upload up to three wide images, drag to reorder, and they'll rotate as a carousel at the top of your public profile.
How do I delete my account?
There's no self-serve delete button yet. To close your account, email support@hoardprime.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We'll remove your account and the collection data tied to it. If there's anything you want to keep, export or save it first, since deletion can't be undone.
Trouble
I can't log in.
Try Forgot password first - most login issues are forgotten or mistyped passwords. If the reset email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder; the sender is HoardPrime's authentication provider. If you're still stuck, email support@hoardprime.com.
A photo failed to upload.
Try again - most upload failures are momentary. If a specific photo always fails, check the file size (very large files can time out) and the format (JPEG and PNG work reliably; HEIC from iPhones sometimes doesn't - convert to JPEG first).
My video URL is valid but the player won't load.
A few things to check: the video must be set to Public or Unlisted on YouTube/Vimeo (private videos won't embed), embedding must be allowed in the video's settings, and some ad-blockers block embedded players. Try in a different browser or with the ad-blocker disabled to confirm.
I want to report something I saw on HoardPrime.
On any item or profile, click the three-dot menu (⋯) and choose Report. Reports go to the operator for review. We take them seriously and review every one.
I made a typo and now I can't fix it.
Most fields are editable. Item names, descriptions, photos, categories - all editable from the item's Edit page. Username is editable from Settings. If you've found something you genuinely can't edit, email support and tell us what it is.
